Department Spotlight: Diyafat

by January 23, 2026

1. Mission

The Diyafat Department serves every guest of the Jama’at as an esteemed guest of the Promised Messiah, with sincerity, dignity, and excellence. Through accommodation, meals, transportation, and overall care, the department reflects the Jama’at’s values of hospitality, sacrifice, and Islamic brotherhood, ensuring that every guest feels honoured and at peace.

2. Day-to-Day Reality

The department’s responsibilities extend far beyond major events and continue throughout the year. A typical week includes managing and maintaining guest accommodations, planning and supervising food preparation, coordinating airport pickups and drop-offs, managing kitchen supplies and logistics, and responding to last-minute arrivals or special needs.

The Langar Khana serves between 200 and 600 resident guests, depending on the season. The facility also prepares more than 1,000 additional meals each month for Jama’at meetings and events, a number that increases significantly during peak periods. During major events such as Jalsa Salana and National Ijtima’at, workloads intensify considerably. Extended hours and close coordination among office bearers and volunteers are required to ensure guests are served smoothly, efficiently, and respectfully.

3. Collaboration

The department’s success depends on close collaboration with auxiliary bodies and local office bearers. Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya provides vital support through Waqar-e-Amal, airport transportation, logistics, and physical assistance during large events. Ansarullah assists with supervision, logistics, and operational support.

The Diyafat Department supports auxiliary bodies by providing full food and accommodation arrangements for their national and local programs, including National Ijtima’at and events involving guests travelling from outside their local areas. This mutual cooperation strengthens unity and amplifies collective blessings.

4. Current Focus

The demands on Diyafat services have increased substantially with continued growth in Jama’at membership. While this growth is a blessing, the current infrastructure is under significant strain. Food operations are largely conducted from temporary facilities, and guest accommodations rely heavily on rented properties, resulting in high ongoing costs and logistical challenges.

The department’s major and urgent focus is on establishing a permanent, purpose-built Dar-ul-Diyafat facility that includes a centralized guesthouse and an industrial-standard kitchen. Such a facility would reduce rental expenses, improve efficiency, enhance the dignity of guest services, and allow hospitality operations to be conducted from a single, well-managed location.

5. Call to Action

Members can support the department by volunteering their time at the Langar Khana, minimizing food waste during Jama’at events, offering professional expertise, assisting in identifying suitable properties, and contributing resources toward long-term hospitality infrastructure. The department also requests prayers that Allah may enable it to fulfill the rights of every guest and remove obstacles in establishing a permanent Dar-ul-Diyafat facility.
