By the grace of Allah Almighty, 6,236 members, including 1,002 Nasirat and 5,035 Lajna, attended the annual National Lajna and Nasirat Ijtima’at on August 29-30, 2026 in Peace Village, Canada.
This year’s Ijtima theme was “Love of Allah”. Beloved Huzoor (aba)’s special message for Lajna members focused on: strengthening one’s relationship with Allah, offering prayers with sincerity, and being mindful of their influence in the home—for the education and moral training of our next generation. In National Sadr Lajna Ima’illah Canada, Nadia Mahmood sahiba’s speech, members were reminded to leave their worries to Allah, to take care of their mental and physical health, and be careful to not do anything to lose His love for ourselves.
An Art Exhibition on the theme of Ibadat was also organized at National Ijtima that displayed Lajna’s artwork from across Canada. Members had the opportunity to visit the exhibition and vote for their favourite artwork.
With the gracious guidance and permission of Sayyedna Hazrat Khalifatul Masih (aba), a new website for Lajna Canada launched this weekend, as well as a Lajna Syllabus App and WhatsApp channels. The purpose of this initiative was to allow members to have information accessible right at their fingertips. The website, lajnacanada.ca, aims to provide members of Lajna Ima’illah with a resource to explore details about future programs, National departments, speeches and upcoming events. The WhatsApp Channels will allow members to stay up to date with all current information and announcements. Lastly, the prototype for the Ijtima app was also widely used during the Ijtima itself.
Further to the competitions, members listened to panel discussions on providing support during times of grief and trauma, and on understanding the journey of converts. “The aim of both these panel discussions was to allow attendees to hear these experiences first hand, and to allow them to understand the unique challenges that these members have faced,” commented Mahwish Choudhry sahiba, National Secretary Ta’lim.
This year marked the 100-year jubilee celebration of the San’at wa Dastakari (Industry & Handicraft) department. A special exhibition was set up to celebrate and recognize the historic contributions of Lajna Ima’illah to this department, including a sewing machine from 1926.
Valuable advice of the late Sahibzadi Amtul Jamil Begum Sahiba, granddaughter of the Promised Messiah (as), was shared by her daughters as well. Other presentations included a recap of the AMWSA Canada mulaqat with Beloved Huzoor (aba) from late last year, and a mothers’ meeting on using our faith to teach the school health curriculum. Several awards that recognized the Businesswoman of the Year, Art Competition, and Pen to Preach initiatives were also presented to Lajna members.
The bazaar, fun zone (featuring a rock climbing wall) and seminars appealed to Lajna members of all ages. The seminar marquee had a wide variety of workshops: performing Ghusl, Tabligh frequently-asked-questions, fitness and SEND information, artificial intelligence, resources for supporting caregivers, and more.
The Nasirat Ijtima featured a variety of workshops this year for each age group: a Sip and Chat giving the girls an opportunity to provide feedback with organizers, a Salat workshop, as well as a “Who Am I?” workshop aimed to build confidence and reinforce the Nasirah’s Muslim identities. A new initiative by the Nasirat department this year was the STEM competition, where Nasirat got to showcase their skills and abilities by finding a solution to a problem in their community related to a Sustainable Development Goal.
Another memorable highlight for the Nasirat and students was a bonfire night. AMWSA students and Nasirat sat together by the fire and shared inspiring stories from the mulaqat with Beloved Huzoor (aba). Sports such as soccer and volleyball games were played by the Nasirat, encouraging sisterhood and sportsmanship among the girls. There was also a fun zone for the Nasirat including axe throwing, an obstacle course, and zorb ball.
A special aspect to this year’s Nasirat Ijtima was Beloved Huzoor (aba)’s message to the Nasirat Canada, which was printed and given to each Nasirah in their souvenir bags, including a Nasirat drawstring bag, customized notebook, pen and chocolate. “This year’s theme, ‘Love of Allah,’ made the Ijtima especially meaningful, as we wanted every Nasirah to leave with a stronger personal connection with Allah” said National Nasirat Secretary, Nudrat Chaudhry sahiba.
Despite the forecasted rainfall during the Ijtima weekend, Mahwish Choudhry Sahiba immediately wrote to Huzoor (aba) for prayers when it started to rain Sunday morning. “Alhamdulilah… the rain stopped and the Ijtima was not at all affected; All Praise be to Allah Almighty!”
