Alhamdulillah, on 1 July 2026, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Baitul Ehsan Chapter hosted its first Canada Day celebration at Baitul Ehsan Mosque, welcoming hundreds of residents from across Windsor-Essex for a day of unity, friendship and community spirit.
The celebration was honoured by the presence of distinguished elected officials, including Mayor Drew Dilkens of the City of Windsor, MP Harb Gill (Windsor West), MP Kathy Borrelli (Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore), MPP Lisa Gretzky (Windsor West) and MPP Andrew Dowie (Windsor-Tecumseh). Faith leaders, community organisations, Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, local businesses and representatives from sports clubs across the region also joined the gathering.
Children gathered for a flag-hoisting ceremony, singing the national anthem as the flag was raised. A fire truck drew steady interest through the afternoon, and guests shared in a BBQ and cake as they moved between family activities set up across the grounds. Alongside the festivities, many attendees took the opportunity to learn more about the mosque and the diverse community it serves.
The event created a space where neighbours from different backgrounds came together to mark Canada’s values of inclusion, respect and harmony, values the Chapter’s motto, Love for All, Hatred for None, has long reflected in Windsor.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Baitul Ehsan Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to all distinguished guests, community partners, volunteers, sponsors and attendees whose support made this historic first Canada Day celebration a memorable success.
