1. Mission
The department works to build an Islamic culture of ethical business, entrepreneurship, and skilled trades that helps members become financially stable job creators rather than job seekers.
2. Day-to-Day Reality
A typical week balances planning, outreach, and problem-solving. The team stays connected with members to guide and motivate them in their responsibilities. Much of the work happens behind the scenes, supporting individual members and office bearers across Canada. Some weeks are quiet while others are demanding, especially during events. The focus remains on service, listening to needs and turning opportunities into practical action.
3. Collaboration
The department works closely with auxiliaries and local office bearers to identify talent and support initiatives at local and regional levels. The team actively engages these groups and seeks their cooperation. Each auxiliary has its own program priorities, which can limit full participation. Youth engagement with experienced entrepreneurs remains an area for continued growth. The department remains committed to working with all office bearers and auxiliaries to strengthen coordination.
4. Current Focus
The department is working to strengthen collaboration and networking among members while reaching out to entrepreneurs in the United States and other countries to promote business connections within the community. ACE (Ahmadiyya Muslim Conference of Entrepreneurs) Conferences have produced encouraging results and continue to grow. The next goal is to organize trade missions to target countries to explore opportunities for international trade and investment.
The department faces challenges with limited interest and resources, along with a lack of dedicated support and space for member training. Many members rely on employment and other commitments, which often reduces enthusiasm for entrepreneurial initiatives. The task is to inspire members to think ambitiously while keeping them well informed and realistic. When done effectively, these efforts can yield lasting benefits for individuals and the Jama’at.
5. Call to Action
Members can support the department by actively engaging in networking and business development initiatives. This includes sharing professional expertise, learning from successful entrepreneurs, and supporting trade missions. Greater participation will strengthen the community’s business network and create sustainable opportunities.
