by August 1, 2026

Windsor, ON: By the grace of Allah, on Thursday, July 16, construction officially commenced on the site of the Future Fancsy Family Hospital, marking a significant milestone in the development of Windsor-Essex’s new state-of-the-art acute care hospital.

To celebrate this historic occasion, Windsor Regional Hospital invited representatives of the Run for Windsor team to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony. Run for Windsor, an initiative organized by Majlis Ansarullah Windsor under the banner of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada, has raised more than $107,000 to date in support of the new hospital project through its annual charity run.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 300 guests and dignitaries, including Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), municipal and community leaders, Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens, and Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

During the event, members of the Run for Windsor team had the opportunity to meet and interact with various dignitaries and community leaders. The team introduced the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and highlighted its longstanding commitment to serving humanity. It was emphasized that the Jama’at’s contribution extends far beyond financial support, with members dedicating countless volunteer hours to charitable and community service initiatives throughout the region.

The occasion also provided an excellent opportunity to promote the Jama’at’s motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None” and to showcase the positive impact of its humanitarian efforts. Alhamdulillah, the participation of the Run for Windsor team helped further strengthen community relationships and increased awareness of the Jama’at’s dedication to selfless service and the welfare of society.
