By the grace of Allah, the MKAC Department of Tabligh held an “Islam Understood” open forum Q&A session in Collingwood today.
Despite some online opposition in the lead-up to the event, the programme was warmly received and opened the door to meaningful dialogue with the local community. Around 25 guests attended, supported by 15 Khuddam and members who helped run the initiative.
Among those present were the Mayor of Collingwood, three Town Councillors, and members of various church groups and neighbouring faith communities.
National Secretary Tabligh, Respected Murabbi Farhan Iqbal sahib, and Naib Muhtamim Tabligh, Respected Murabbi Aizaz Khan sahib, answered questions about Islam in an engaging and thoughtful manner. Guests raised questions on a range of topics, including Sharia, jihad, and the similarities between different faiths. The session was moderated by Respected Naib Sadr MKAC, Salman Mangla sahib.
Alhamdulillah, the event helped foster understanding, address misconceptions, and strengthen relations with the wider community.
