By the grace of Allah, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Lloydminster took part in the 150th Treaty 6 Gathering, hosted by Onion Lake Cree Nation at Fort Pitt Provincial Park in Saskatchewan from 6 to 11 September 2026. Held under the theme “The Rights of Future Generations”, the gathering marked 150 years since Treaty 6 was signed at Fort Pitt on 9 September 1876, on the same ground where the Jama’at stood to meet its neighbours a century and a half later.
We were especially honoured to welcome Okimaw (Chief) Pete Chief of Onion Lake Cree Nation, together with councillors of the Nation. They visited the stall, offered warm words about the initiative, and mentioned that they already knew of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Saskatoon. They went on to express their interest in working together on community events and activities in the years ahead.
We are grateful for this opportunity to build bridges of friendship, understanding, respect and cooperation between the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Indigenous communities.
May Allah bless these efforts and open the way for many more occasions to serve and to build lasting friendships. Ameen.
