On Friday, August 28, 2026, Lajna Imai’illah Canada held its annual National Majlis Shura. 361 delegates from across 19 regions of Canada travelled to attend the National Majlis Shura. The program began with attendees listening to the live proceedings of the Friday Sermon as presented by our Beloved Huzoor, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) from Islamabad. Following the conclusion of the sermon, the Shura program officially started with the recitation of Tilawat and pledge.
Sadr Lajna Ima’illah Canada, Nadia Mahmood Sahiba led the inauguration of Majlis Shura. The report of Shura efforts made in the previous year was presented by Secretary Shura, Mansoora Rauf Sahiba along with the implementation reports on the specific proposals which were presented by the National Tarbiyat and Umoore Talibaat secretaries.
Delegates were reminded of the Divine commandment of Shura and Taqwa: “Those who hearken to their Lord, and observe Prayer, and whose affairs are decided by mutual consultation, and who spend out of what We have provided for them” [Ash-Shura, ch.42:v.39]
While some Lajna delegates participated in the sub-committees, the remaining delegates had a special program in the afternoon enhancing their knowledge and awareness of important topics of this current era. The day concluded with silent prayers and dinner hosted for all delegates.
